Dear Chef on Demand Patrons,
We would like to thank you all for your continuous support and for patronizing our service! Sadly, we would like to announce that we will be suspending our on-demand operations in both Cebu and Manila effective immediately.
We launched in September 2015 and it was a very rough ride since then. But we can't deny that we also had fun in the process. We continued to face a lot of challenges along the way and tackled them one by one.
In October 2015, Chef on Demand won a sponsored trip to Tech In Asia Jakarta when we joined the Tech in Asia Manila of its tour. It was a very humbling experience to have been there and be part of a very exciting event.
In December 2015, we had to stop operations and regroup for 2016. Again, more mistakes and more lessons learned.
Mid 2016, we have formalized our partnership with 500 Startups and started our expansion in Manila. Yey! It was a very challenging period for us since the market was more competetive and traffic was hell.
Sadly, we have reached this point that we have to throw in the towel for this battle. But we have not given up on the war yet.
Along with the whole Chef on Demand team and my co-founders, Bryan Yap and Jed Hatamosa, we would like to thank everyone for the support that you have shown us and the lessons you have taught us. Running a startup is not an easy task but it being hard is not an enough reason not to try.
We will be doing a pivot and remain in the food-startup business, armed with the lessons that we have learned throughout this journey. We will be rebranding along with this pivot and we would look forward to providing you with the same, if not better, service that we could offer. So please watch out for it!
